In the Forest
In this picture Tobias is holding baby-bear, a bear he has been carrying around for the past two weeks or so. He talks to him, takes him to bed with him, shares his meals with him etc. So, baby-bear also had to accompany him to the forest. Tobias was our "pathfinder" meaning that he would find the arrows we had to follow. He did a good job at that. Also he had to find leaves, acorns, pine-cones, and, in this case, mushrooms. He was actually quite excited. This afternoon (it is not my daddy-day, but Lisa is still in Munich today and will be home tonight, so I took the day off) we are going to collage his collection onto a piece of paper... or at least that's what he said he wants to do before he left for school this morning. That would be nice :-).

Riding a Pony
And.... Tobias got to ride a pony (that black thing in the bottom of this picture is the pony :-)). It was only a short ride, but a ride nonetheless and he enjoyed it thoroughly. As you can see in this picture he did have time for a smile! How cute!

Biking (continued...)
Of course you can always have someone else take a picture :-). In this case the most obvious alternative: Lisa. This was taken during the weekend so Lisa was around to take some pictures and as you can see he is really doing it. Me running after him at this time was not all that necessary anymore other than for his peace of mind... I did still need to be there for him to get started. He still needed a little push for that at the time this picture was taken.... but, he is past that now too (which makes biking a lot earier, not only for him, especially for me :-)).
As of last friday he does not need help anymore with starting. I layed the groundworks and Opa finished the job... Also he can now turn corners. On this particular ride he tried to turn a corner and ended up in a rose-bush :-). As you can see we got him a helmet. This is not something I grew up with, but is becoming more and more common in the Netherlands. As a matter of fact he had a friend over to play two weeks ago who was already biking by himself. This boy was wearing a helmet as well and of course Tobias wanted to try it on and then wanted one for himself. To be honest I think it is quite a good idea... Not in the least because he looks soooooooo cute in it!
